The tree has ornaments on it (and many more in the process of being created in a majority of ways). And we put lights on the house. Now our few strands may be nothing compared to the neighbors musical assortment of inflatables but the kids still were very excited to help put them up and see our house lit. We are still going to get a few things for yard but it's a decent start and another exciting part of living in a house instead of an apartment.

Hubby got an early Christmas Gift this week from his folks of a Scroll saw. And now we have several wooden ornaments some of which we will be painting and others will be stained. We both have used it and I think with practice we will be creating several nice decorative items in the years to come. I'm including a pic of a couple of our creations below.
Finally another wonderful thing happened today to get us in the Christmas mood. It snowed! It's been awhile since I remember having snow before Christmas but the kids loved it and C kept saying "Maybe Santa Claus will come today because it's snowing." It didn't really stick and other than scraping it off the deck and cars the kids didn't get to play in it too much but it was still a lot of fun and hopefully a sign of a White Christmas to come.
This week is hubby's exam week so all good luck wishes appreciated. His first exam is tomorrow followed by two more later in the week. After these he only has one required class left next term and then we're officially school free and completely on to whatever God has in store for us next. Also after this week hubby will be off until January which is wonderful. Since I know in future years he probably won't get as much time off we'll be making the most of the time between the holidays as well as the holidays themselves. We hope to go to North GA to visit my Dad and various relatives up there and then right after Christmas to join the in-laws in NC for a visit with family there as well. I also hope to arrange some time to meet up with my awesome cousins I haven't seen in awhile and some friends locally as well. It looks to be a beautiful holiday season. Also our Christmas cards will be in the mail tomorrow so be on the lookout!
