Cold before Christmas

Today was a good day but not as nice as it could have been, thanks to the seasonal cold having hit our house. Only C is sick and it's just snottiness (not even enough to avoid school in years to come most likely) but with the extra worries for me whenever C gets a cold due to her rough start, a 3 month old baby, and another toddler to potentially pass it to it makes me nervous none the less. We're all on extra Vitamin C and practicing even more hand washing than usual in an attempt to avoid it catching but I'm not holding my breath.

As my MIL often reminds me when you have multiple kids avoiding "cross contamination" is pretty much impossible. We've been lucky not to have to many colds etc. in the past. I'm sure once the kids are in school I'll have to deal with this more often though despite all the hand sanitizer we go through. In the meantime, here's hoping this cold is gone completely from the whole family by Christmas.

Speaking of Christmas there's now less than a week to go. We have most of the kids stuff done but still need to get some clothes shopping done for a couple parent gifts. I also want to get lots of baking in this week and do a lot of clutter sorting (especially of toys to make room for any new ones Santa will be bringing). We have continued to receive beautiful cards from our friends and family and two early presents from my brother and his family and my sister and hers which are greatly appreciated and have put us in the holiday mood a little more.

I hope sometime this week we can take all the kids out to see lights and maybe a church nativity as well. It will definitely be a busy week ahead so excuse me if my blog posts get scatter brained, shorter, and further apart for a bit. Hope everyone is doing well with their holiday preparations and staying well! And please pray my family is well in time for Christmas too! Wishing everyone many blessings!
