July 4th '11 Recap

Today was wonderful, despite the random rain showers in between. We had hotdogs with slaw and turkey chili, fresh lemonade, and potato salad for dinner. After sunset neighbors on all sides starting shooting off firecrackers and fireworks (the big circle one in the sky) and the kids loved it. Since one of hubby's bday gifts was some firecrackers we set off some of our own down the driveway too. The kids loved the show on all sides and even E was laughing and clapping with each blast. I didn't get any good pics of the fireworks themselves. After wards we went back in for confetti cake with cool whip and flags made out of strawberries and blueberries on top. The perfect end to a great day. Next year maybe we'll venture out to a full show but we definitely had a great mini one in the neighborhood that was perfect for this year :) Hope everyone else had a great 4th celebrating the USA!
