Wednesday Already?

I can't believe we're already halfway through this weekly. Mainly because the majority of it thus far has been taken by us being sick unfortunately.

This cold is definitely something new for us though not fun in the least. We seem to have a bad day then a good day then a bad day followed by another good. Amazingly today fell kind of in the middle. C and J do seem truly better but their poor throats have been put through so much congestion they have some residual coughs. No fevers and much happier moods are definitely good signs though.

Yesterday E had a low grade fever and congestion. Last night she seemed to have lots of issues getting comfortable to sleep and woke up upset a few times though the congestion was easily managed with suction bulb and saline. Well today her fever broke and I found out the real issue. E's first tooth has popped through her gums! She's in so much better spirits today though still drooling lots and a little stuffy. You can definitely tell a difference. I'm hoping since her initial issues last night were more the teething it seems that this cold will be passing quickly (go breast milk in helping this!).

Today we did manage to go back to tv free days and have some teaching time. Hoping tomorrow since hubby will have to go to school we will be even better and closer to normal.

I have also still been fighting this off and have a sore throat but luckily God has blessed me keeping me well enough to care for my little ones and it seems hubby has been able to fight this off as well.

I know my posts this week have been pretty boring probably but this is the main focus of our lives right now. Such a weird virus. Hoping it's gone for good soon. And soon I will be getting back to fun posts of our daily adventures.

Other than getting well we are looking forward to our 4th wedding anniversary this Friday as well! And Spring Break starting this weekend, which if we're all well will mean a trip to visit Ami next week! After the first half of this week we're definitely ready for a reason to celebrate and a good break. And of course any excuse to visit Ami is always pretty awesome :)

Happy 6 Months Sweet E!

I wish you weren't sick today, but even sick you seem to have the most incredible way of brightening every day.

I can't believe my Baby E is already 6 months old! This past half year has definitely flown by and she's still constantly exciting an amazing all of us. C and J adore her more and more and she wants to be with them more and more as well. I love this stage and can't wait to see what my silly sweetheart, bunny baby, has in store for us next.

At 6 months E is:

-Still saying 3 main words (Mama, Nanna, and Hi) but loves to mimic, squeal, and is working on Dada and Jojo.
-Can crawl everywhere on all fours, and does (has been about 3.5 weeks now before that we were doing army crawl and roll)
-Can get up to sitting on her own and sit unassisted as long as she pleases
-Loves to pull herself up to standing on boxes, tables, the pink car, and the couch
-Will reach her arms out to Mommy when she wants up
-Loves playing with C and J, crawling to and away from them
-Still Exclusively Breastfeeding! Though we're planning to start solids after this fever/cold is done....maybe
-Loves her new found independence but still loves to snuggle and have Mommy one on one time
-Has quite the sense of humor still and loves to laugh at all of us (the picture below is her laughing at Mommy wanting to go to bed early when she wanted to play Peek-a-boo
-Favorite toys are wooden bunny teether, stackable rings, links, and music table (and C's dolls and J's Buzz Lightyear)
-Loves to bounce, definitely our Bunny Baby

Better day, but not better

The title says it all. Today continued us dealing with this cold, fever, snotty crud. I know two days isn't much but I'm so over this and ready for the kids to be.

Luckily hubby didn't have any appointments or classes today and could stay home. Tomorrow he will be gone all day and I'm praying we're okay without him. E has been in a super clingy mood but *knock on wood* still well. C is better but still a bit snotty and had a mild fever when she woke up. J got the worst of it today. This makes sense since he didn't show any symptoms till C had had it for 12 hours already so C had her rough bit yesterday and his was today. Of course for him it's worse though because age and weight wise C can take better meds than J can for it.

Lots of fluids, naps, movies, books, and patience today for sure. And not to blame since I can't be sure, but I saw some of the same symptoms my kids have now the other day unfortunately in some kids they played with so I think this may have been passed to us. This is one more reminder why I don't take my kids out sick though I'm sure the mom didn't mean it and thought it was probably just allergies or fever-less.

I will give a mini vent though. 2009 at our apartment playground a mom brought her very sick little girl out and she was begging to go home and go to sleep. She told us (the other parents and I) we probably wanted to keep our kids away from her daughter because she was acting sick. Then went on to tell us her older daughter had confirmed H1N1 a few days before. Come on people, it's not rocket science if you know your kid is sick a playground is probably not the best place for them just saying.

On the other hand the majority of moms I know and the ones in our playgroup last year are/were always very considerate about keeping kids that might be sick home and even waiting the recommended times after before visiting/inviting folks over and I am still thankful for that. And on an even brighter note I know this too shall pass and could be worse despite how miserable we currently are. And I thank God that our kids immune systems are fighting this and they are getting better slowly but surely and thus far we've been blessed that it's missed E, hubby, and I. I wish you well, and us too.

This to shall pass.

Snotty Sunday

Late last night/very early this morning C woke up coughing with snot pouring. Nothing worse than your little one waking up crying and saying "Mommy I'm sick," except maybe them being too young to tell you. Despite medicine C was still pretty miserable come morning. J was a little snotty but not bad at all.

Well as the day went by C got better and J got worse till he was where C was last night and she seemed to be in a bit better spirits but still exhausted. We watched movies, ate lots of soup, and took lots of naps which totally messed up our schedule but were very needed. J at his worst point had a 102 fever but C's had dropped to 100 then.

I felt a fever coming on at one point but I took tylenol and got a nap in while the kids were out and luckily fought it off. Hubby had some sniffles and E sneezed a couple times. I've been nursing E really often so hoping it misses her and Hubby and I for the most part.

Ok well time for another dose of tylenol for the kids. Hoping tomorrow we're past this misery and Tuesday we're well again. Figures we've stayed well most of the winter and this happens just as Spring comes and it's really gorgeous out. We did still get some time in the backyard today too though and I think the fresh air helped. Hope yall are staying well!

Figures....Update

So it figures I write about missing the blog and our days go into overdrive and I miss it more. Well it was a nice break long break it seems lol and the week was worth it for sure.

Thursday we started reading lessons with C and J and I'm not looking into various home school programs for Pre-K this Fall. Still no clue where we'll be going and C may still end up in outside the home but I also have met many amazing home school kids recently and realized there's a really amazing home school network here which provides for the socialization aspect. My kids are doing well with their lessons for the reading and have always done great with the my home teaching and crafts so this seems like it might be the right next step for us for this Fall.

Friday we went to a HUGE ICAN playdate. 23 kids ages 3months to 6 years. It was a lot of fun and a bit crazy at times. I loved meeting more of the group members and the babes I've read birth stories for :) The kids and I had a great time and C and J really impressed me with their sharing. They started playing by going around and giving toys to the other kids, even the babies! It was funny and cute. And they remembered to clean up at the end, though they weren't in the mood to leave the fun.

Afterward we went to visit hubby's mom/MIL and my SIL at MIL's place. The kids got to feed the ducks and after playing we went out for some brief shopping and nice dinner.

Today we spent the majority of the day at MIL's again playing, making yummy Panini's and enjoying the gorgeous weather out. It was a great end to the week and felt like Summer out!

And now home again I am praying and anxiously awaiting news on an expectant ICANer having triplets! Hoping all goes perfectly for her.

One more week till Spring Break but the past few days have been so much fun even though we weren't on break. I will try and update with some more thoughtful posts soon and pictures. Hope you're all having a great weekend!!!!

Missing the Blog

The last couple days have been tiring, stormy, and overall very busy so in the midst of all the craziness I missed blogging. I promise I'll play catch up soon and try and get more into it. I feel like I have so many things to write about during the day that by the end of the day I can't focus in on just one. I'm also missing my other two blogs (yep 2 lol, though they're more on birthy stuff) which I've got much further behind on than just a day. Hopefully I can play catch up Friday some. In the mean time here's a couple pics from the last few days.

E driving C's car :P and so excited to be standing up while holding onto the steering wheel
E kept grabbing C's finger and trying to gum it
J "Cheesing"Natural Maple Bunny Teether (made by hubby and I and smoother now even than pictured)
E approved (and you can see she'd rather use it then the paci)

And she's off....

Mobility definitely comes quick it seems. E is not just crawling and not just sitting up but doing so at top speeds.

Today we had several examples of this speed. My formerly stationary baby now seems to want to play hide and seek. She's pulling up to standing on anything she can reach and can't stay still for a second other than to sit up and laugh at big sis and big bro.

Today while helping C and J in the bathrooms (yes both bathrooms they seem to be synchronized lol) for 2 minutes I placed E on her mat in the living room. When I came back she was gone and I hear a happy squeal from the kitchen, seeming to say Mommy look what I can do lol. She also while laying on a blanket asleep in the living room while Mommy was doing dishes and C and J were having lunch, woke up and decided to crawl in an join us, ever so nonchalantly. I think it's time for the gates, though luckily our house is pretty child proof already (though toddler proof has been transitioning back to baby proof recently).

C and J love seeing their little sis on the move (even when she's trying to avoid them instead of come to them) and got such a kick out of her visiting them during lunch. I love this stage though it's a little nerve-wracking too. E's usual destination seems to be looking for me and she will come to my feet squeal with delight, say "Mama" and reach her arms out showing me exactly what she wants. It warms my heart. C and J still often ask me to pick them up and hold them and now E is doing this (in a more calm sweet way than just crying). I am constantly reminded how blessed I am and even when my little ones are at their loudest and most active I am surrounded with love.
