I posted this on FB too but wanted to add it here too for me to keep track of and for any who missed it. E can now get up to sitting on her own and sit as long as she wants (versus a few minutes prior). She's been crawling on hands and knees since around a week after she turned 5 months and is getting more and more proficient at it. She's so proud of all her new mobility as are we. C and J love that they can play with E more now. E seems to just be looking forward though. The second she gets one thing (like the crawling and getting up to sitting) it seems like she grins and then is like "Well why can't I stand yet?" Babies and kids are so amazing, at all ages :)

Scroll saw Saturday and Sibling fun
Today was a craft day for us. We worked on several wood projects on the scroll saw, including some natural teethers for E a bunny one in particular I love. I have a couple other big projects in the works and hubby is planning an anniversary gift (our wedding anniversary is soon) and a couple wooden toys for C and J. Besides cutting and sanding, we painted, colored, and I knit some in between. It was definitely a fun productive day.
We still need to sand and finish some crafts and since a couple things are gifts no pics till later on those but I'll try and add the teether pics later.
Another fun part of the day, C, J, and E played together a lot. C and J love that E can crawl everywhere now (and she does) and she's also shown that now she can sit as long as she wants (versus just a few minutes before) without toppling. E can actually get up into sitting position by herself and sit contently next to her siblings as long as she pleases. It's so cute and another reminder how big she's getting.
C and J also learned the lesson today that we've been trying to remind them of often that if E can reach a toy she will. They are wonderful about sharing the appropriate stuff with little sis but now have learned to not leave their big kid toys (specifically books) out. Oh the joys of little siblings lol but at least this will help remind C and J to keep their toys picked up even more often.
So far along with celebrating our dating anniversary (enjoying extra family time) yesterday it's been a wonderful weekend. Looking forward to working and playing more tomorrow.
And here's a pic from early this morning of E so proud of herself getting up and sitting all by herself :) Now she's working on that standing thing :P

8 years ago today......
......My wonderful hubby and I started dating officially and had our first kiss.
I am so amazed to look back on the last 8 years. Through everything from being highschool sweethearts, to doing the long distance relationship, to newly weds, first time parents, and now. Through all the changes, challenges, trials, and joys we've been there for each other.
When hubby and I started dating I hoped as any young girl does that it would have the fairy tale ending but I still am amazed he was and is the one! I feel so blessed to have found my soul mate so young but even just saying he's my soul mate doesn't say enough. He's my confidant, husband, partner in parenting, partner in crime, teacher at times, the one who keeps me grounded, my comedian/jester, my biggest fan and best critic, my lover, my protector, provider, and truly my best friend. He constantly amazes me with what a wonderful father and husband he is, his intelligence and ability to create his wood and engineering projects, his wit (and at times sarcasm lol), the way that smile and gleam in his eye brightens my whole day as cheesy as that sounds, and what an incredible person he is (though most people don't get to see it till they get past his quieter first appearance).
We are still opposites in a lot of ways and so alike in others, but it all comes together and we just fit it seems. Sometimes I think of our relationship as a reminder of God's sense of humor lol, but I wouldn't change one moment for all the world. I can't believe it's been only 8 years now that I think about it, that we came into each others lives. And I am looking forward to the rest of our lives together.

Tutu cute!
This year I decided to get the kids more casual/fun Easter outfits then the traditional formal wear. This gave me a great excuse to get the girls.....tutus! They are 2 shades of pink and white and adorable. C loves hers because she feels even more like a princess in it (combined with a ballerina) and E likes hers because it improves her sitting balance lol though crawling in it proves more frustrating.
We got them late Wednesday and C had to try hers on (she insisted). She put it on over her clothes and then went crazy with accessories! So cute :) C definitely has a fun sense of style.

Then today we tried them on both girls. This is not the full Easter ensemble (or the right shirts lol) and I still have to get J's stuff done too but still really cute :) J put on his Fireman coat as his dressup. I still need a better pic of the girls together but E was just in the mood for full group shot and C was not in the mood to stay still so this is what you get for now lol. Hopefully when we get pro pics later they'll be more into it. Enjoy!

My ICAN-iversary
I've been meaning to write on this for a bit now. February 22nd marked the one year anniversary of my joining the ICAN message board group, and the first week in March was my first meeting last year. I have since become a member of the International Cesarean Awareness Network (ICAN) Atlanta Chapter.
Through these wonderful moms and birth professionals (our members include doctors, midwives, doulas, and CBEs as well) I've learned so much this past year.
When I first joined I was just trying to avoid a third c-section but I've since learned there's so much more to birth than just c-section versus vaginal delivery. I've learned how much education makes a difference in your birth and I've developed a passion for everything birth.
I've been so supported by the wonderful ladies both in my own pregnancy and birth and any other random questions on parenting along the way and been inspired to further my knowledge of birth and hopefully help other parents make the most of their own births, getting the healthiest experience both physically and emotionally for them and their children (and yes that might be cesarean even).
I am happy to celebrate my First ICAN-iversary with many to come. I hope we stay in the Atlanta area but if not I know this amazing national organization will be part of my life for many years to come.
For moms with any birth history of any age, check if there's an ICAN group in your area. It's really an amazing group working to help make the most of all births through furthering education and awareness! And if you're ever around here and available around the first Wednesday of the month or the third Saturday and want to tag along with me to a meeting let me know :)

Making the most of the day
I try and make the most of every day and feel we usually do really well. You know excepting the sudden storms or the one in a million "those days" (the trying extra challenging days where simpler is better at the end to retain sanity lol). Today though we definitely made the most of the day.
We had a doctors appointment in Norcross this morning and a playdate in Sandy Springs afterward. Since we currently just have the sedan (we were using MIL's SUV but she's out of town for a bit) so fitting the kids all in is a tight squeeze I try to avoid I decided to just take C and E and since Daddy had the day off J got a much needed Boys' Day.
Traffic was annoying. The doctor's office wait wasn't the best but clean bill of health. Then the play date after was lots of fun for both the girls making new friends. Now that E can crawl play becomes much more fun. Time flew by and I couldn't believe how quickly it was already 2. C was a bit worn out but also loved it.
On the way home we were going to grab a snack and C got the idea to surprise Daddy and J with something special so we got some food and Strawberry milkshakes.
When we arrived home we were greeted so sweetly by Daddy and J with a surprise of their own! They cleaned the house for us while away, amid their other adventures lol.
Of course C proceeded to spill milk shake on the freshly cleaned kitchen floor later but we still appreciated the gesture lol.
We played more and then all crashed for a nap. We were all worn out but it was worth it.
I was supposed to make the ICAN meeting tonight but missed it to spend more time with the family, and though I miss seeing those ladies too definitely feel like the choice to stay home was needed and the perfect end to an awesome day.
Tomorrow hubby has a full day planned so it will be C, J, E, and I at home again but I look forward to making the most of the home day after the day out.

Stormy Monday
Missed posting yesterday but I was in no mood to post by the end of the day. Yesterday morning was great but in the afternoon a sudden storm hit.
We had tornado watch and warnings, and thunderstorm warnings going which kept getting extended of course right as hubby was getting off and heading home. The weather sirens were blaring and the wind was shaking the house, and of course the weatherman was spouting doom and gloom forecast so the kids and I moved some books, food, toys, and the laptop to the master bedroom, had a picnic in the hallway, blocked off the windows and camped out a few hours playing and watching some kids shows on the laptop.
All was well and thank God Daddy got home alright but it was not the funnest time. Thankfully we're all alright though and the kids just think it was a new adventure.
Hoping that's the last serious storm for a good long time and also upping our supplies for power outages. I did have one flashlight and luckily our power stayed up but the kids were flipping it on and off so much I know that wouldn't last.
We have a basement as well but it's outside entrance so the idea of dragging the babes outside through the rain to get in a cold cement room wasn't the best. Maybe hubby can work to make it more kid friendly as well just in case.
After the storm passed the rest of the day was nice but I was worn out and blogging was the last thing on my mind lol. I'll try and make up for it today. Hope everyone else stayed safe through the storms too!
I've heard of some hail damage and fallen trees in the area but looks like the neighborhood was mostly unscathed. Thank God for helping us weather the storm :)
